Montenegro Company Formation Costs
Northbridge · Published · 4 min read
Montenegro company formation costs should be divided into capital, local registration formalities, professional assistance and recurring operations. A DOO’s EUR 1 minimum share capital is not the price of a working company.
Research date: 19 October 2026. Tax bands were checked against PwC on that date. The cost and timing figures below come from the independent ePorezi.me guide, not a government tariff or Northbridge quotation. They require confirmation for your documents and the current filing route.
What basic registration costs are reported?
The independent guide lists an approximate EUR 80–210 local formalities bundle, covering items such as notary work, filing, capital and a stamp. Its itemised list includes notary certification of EUR 50–150 and a CRPS filing fee of EUR 10. These are source-reported figures, not independently confirmed current official tariffs; component totals and actual requirements can differ.
Do not treat that bundle as the cost of a fully supported foreign-founder setup. It excludes Northbridge professional services and may not cover foreign-document translations, legalisation, registered office arrangements, bank charges, director matters, immigration or ongoing accounting. We do not publish a fixed service-package price here.
What changes the final quotation?
A single individual shareholder with ready documents is different from a foreign corporate owner requiring registry extracts, representation evidence and an ownership chain. The number of founders, countries issuing documents, signing arrangements and activity-specific permissions can affect cost.
Request separate lines for formation work, government or registry charges, certification, translation, registered office, banking preparation and recurring bookkeeping. Ask whether applicable taxes on professional fees are included and which renewals are due later. Share capital should appear separately because it funds the company rather than paying a service provider.
How long should you allow?
The independent guide gives an indicative registration period of 4–7 business days. This is a third-party estimate, not a statutory promise or Northbridge completion guarantee. Preparing and correcting documents can add time, as can changes in the filing process or requests from the register.
Bank onboarding is a separate stage. A company can be registered before its operating account is approved. Confirm attendance requirements and account-opening evidence before booking travel or committing to a trading date.
What will the bank want to see?
Expect registration and founding documents, director and beneficial-owner identification, source of funds and a clear business profile. Explain customer locations, suppliers, expected payment volumes and the commercial reason for using Montenegro. A bank may ask for contracts or an interview and retains the final approval decision.
Foreign founders can generally own a DOO, but company ownership, work permission and residence status are separate. Do not assume an incorporation fee includes immigration work or guarantees a permit.
What expenses and taxes continue each year?
Budget for bookkeeping, annual financial statements and corporate-tax reporting, plus payroll, registered office and banking costs where relevant. VAT and electronic fiscalisation requirements depend on the business and registrations.
Corporate income tax is progressive: 9% up to EUR 100,000 of taxable profit; EUR 9,000 plus 12% of the excess up to EUR 1.5 million; and EUR 177,000 plus 15% of the excess above EUR 1.5 million. These are profit-tax calculations, not formation fees or the owner’s total tax burden.
